Eligibility and Application
Eligibility Requirements
Students must meet the following eligibility requirements in order to be eligible
for the EOPS/CARE program:
- Be a California resident or AB540 student as determined by SBCC Admissions and Records
- Enroll as a full-time student (12 units or more per semester)*
- Have completed fewer than 70 degree applicable, college units
- Qualify for the California College Promise Grant/CCPG (A or B only)
- Be educationally disadvantaged as determined by EOPS staff
*waiver of 12 unit requirement may be available for students registered in the DSPS program with accommodations for full time enrollment.
How to Apply for EOPS
New students to SBCC must follow these steps prior to joining the EOPS Program:
- Apply to SBCC (for new AND returning students)
- Complete College Orientation
- Determine math and English placement
- Complete New Student Class Planning
All students must also complete these steps prior to applying to the EOPS program:
- Complete FAFSA/Dream and California College Promise Grant (CCPG) application
- Enroll in 12 or more units for the Spring 2021 semester*
- If you have attended another college or university, please be prepared to send EOPS a copy of your unofficial transcript(s) in order to determine your EOPS eligibility (unless your transcripts are already on file with SBCC Admissions and Records).
Please note:
Your EOPS application cannot be processed unless all of the steps above have been
completed.
